Who I am
I’m Kaya Sarah Djakou.
My life has always been shaped by creative influences from every direction. Early on, I realised I don’t just want to consume, I want to create. Ideas are constantly with me, and inspiration often comes from many places at once.
My creative journey began out of pure curiosity. As a child, I explored whatever felt right. I started my own YouTube channel, filmed my first videos, photographed with my first camera and experimented visually from an early age. I painted, crafted, glued, sewed and worked with a wide range of materials. It was never about perfection, but about doing, learning and moving forward.
Through this exploration, I realised I’m not interested in a single medium, but in how everything connects. Creative execution and strategic thinking belong together for me. Graphic design, photography, film, video and web design meet social media, marketing, trend observation, analysis and campaign planning. I think holistically and always work in context.
I don’t come from a traditional educational background. That made things harder, but also pushed me to find and confidently follow my own path. I built my knowledge myself, driven by passion, initiative and the determination to recognise and use opportunities. I see possibilities and transform them into something of my own. Opportunities, transformed.
Inside my head is a creative chaos, a constantly shifting creative space. That feeling is reflected in this portfolio, a glimpse into how I think, work and what drives me.

As Head of Communication and Graphic Design at KUFA Lyss, I am responsible for the entire visual and content communication, from strategy to execution.
I work at the intersection of design, communication and organisation, and take responsibility for content, budget and overall visual direction.

Around 40 percent of my apprenticeship was spent in a design and marketing environment, laying the foundation for my path into communication and design.

Im Marketingpraktikum bei der LerNetz AG arbeitete ich sowohl im Unternehmensmarketing als auch eigenverantwortlich am Aufbau der Untermarke MoveBox.
Dabei übernahm ich die Projektleitung im kreativen und Social-Media-Bereich und war an Markenaufbau, Content-Produktion und Teamkoordination beteiligt.
